Meet Fiona
Osteopath with a focus on Gut Wellness and TMJ Dysfunction
Fiona is an Osteopath who is passionate about gut wellness. She has a particular interest in treating adults with a range of digestive complaints using visceral osteopathy, also known as visceral manipulation and likened to 'stomach' massage. Additionally, she has an interest in treating patients with TMJ dysfunction.
Fiona strongly believes that stress is a major driver in less optimal health in the current modern day with its impact often having a role in poor digestion and and TMJ dysfunction. She has always been interested in the mind-body connection and how each influences the other and feels it is vital to address all causes of disease in the body to help it function optimally and that mindset plays an important role.
Fiona relocated home to Australia in March 2020, after previously having lived and worked in the UK for 21 years. During that time, she spent the last 10 years working in London as a massage therapist and later an osteopath, strongly focused on abdominal massage and visceral osteopathic treatments. Most of her patients during this time were stressed-out city workers with digestive problems. A few of the presentations Fiona saw were constipation, reflux, bloating, SIBO, and general 'stomach' pain and discomfort, sometimes also known as visceral hypersensitivity.
Bringing together the knowledge and skills learnt from her training in the UK she is now practicing as an osteopath in Sydney, at The Body Project clinic in Chatswood, Blues Point Practice, McMahon's Point and You Little Beauty, Killarney Heights. She uses a combination of the techniques she has learnt over the years in all aspects of her education, training and continued professional development to aid people on their journey to optimal digestive health and well-being.
In her spare time Fiona loves fermenting foods, walking and spending time in nature, brewing tea & drinking coffee and dreaming of her next trip overseas.
