If you experience any of the following symptoms, please do not ignore them but as soon as possible book an appointment with your GP to rule out anything serious and to get a diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
Blood in the stool or black tarry stool (known as melaena)
Significant changes in bowel habits that are not resolving
Unintentional & unexplained weight loss
Unexplained loss of appetite
Having night time diarrhoea that isn't gastroenteritis
Persistent difficulty swallowing or painful swallowing
A lot of mouth ulcers in addition to digestive issues
Frequent and severe heartburn
Constant nausea or vomiting
Vomit with blood
